Saint Martin’s Island
Saint Martin’s Island is the only coral island in Bangladesh. It is located about 35 kilometers away from Teknaf in the Bay of Bengal and has an area of approximately 16 square kilometers. The main attractions of this island are the rocky beaches, rows of coconut trees, the endless blue sea, and the unique lifestyle of the local people. About ten thousand people live on this island. Saint Martin’s Island is also known as “Narikel Jinjira”.
Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach
Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach is located in the south-eastern part of Bangladesh. Surrounded by hills, Cox’s Bazar is the world’s longest natural sandy sea beach. Its beauty changes every moment. This beach is about 120 kilometers long, and its main feature is its continuous sandy shoreline. It is located about 150 kilometers south of Chittagong, and Captain Hiram Cox, an officer of the British East India Company, gave the place its name.

Sajek Valley has two villages: Ruilui and Konglak. Ruilui village, established in 1885, is located about 1,720 feet above sea level. Lawachara National Park, Moulvibazar
The government protects Lawachara National Park, covering about 1,250 hectares. It is located in Kamalganj and partially in Sreemangal of Moulvibazar district. Known as a tropical rainforest, this national park is full of biodiversity and natural beauty. It is home to about 460 species of rare plants, 20 species of mammals, 6 species of reptiles, and 240 species of birds. Tourists especially recognize it as the largest habitat of the endangered Hoolock Gibbon in Bangladesh.

Sundarban
The Sundarbans are located in the coastal region of the Bay of Bengal. It stretches across the districts of Khulna, Satkhira, and Bagerhat. The Sundarbans is the largest continuous mangrove forest in the world, covering an area of about 139,500 hectares (345,000 acres). Every year, thousands of tourists visit this forest.
It is a land of extraordinary natural beauty and biodiversity, and has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Besides the famous Sundari trees, there are also Gorjan, Bain, and Gewa trees. Tanguar Haor
Tanguar Haor is one of the largest wetlands in Bangladesh. It is located in the Dharmapasha and Tahirpur upazilas of Sunamganj district in the north-eastern part of the country. This freshwater wetland is rich in biodiversity and is the second Ramsar site in Bangladesh. The harbor is full of fish, birds, and other aquatic animals and serves as a large sanctuary for wildlife. Rangamati
Rangamati is a district in the Chittagong Hill Tracts known for its natural beauty. The small town floats on the Kaptai Lake, surrounded by many scenic spots. These places appear in different forms in different seasons, but the beauty during the rainy season is especially unique. Tourists can visit several attractions in Rangamati, such as Kaptai Lake, the famous Hanging Bridge over the lake, Kaptai National Park, Rajban Vihara, and Shuvolong Waterfall.
Paharpur Buddhist Vihara
Paharpur Buddhist Vihara is located in Paharpur village of Badalgachhi Upazila in Naogaon district under the greater Rajshahi region. The structure stands about 30.30 meters above the surrounding plain land and looks like a small hill. Local people once called it “Gopal Chitar Pahar,” which later led to the name Paharpur, although its original name is Somapura Vihara.
Somapura Mahavihara is now a ruined ancient Buddhist monastery. Historians believe that Dharmapala, the second king of the Pala dynasty (781–821), built it in the late 8th or early 9th century. In 1879, Sir Alexander Cunningham discovered this massive structure. Paharpur is considered one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in the world. In 1985, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site.
Its size can be compared with the Nalanda Mahavihara in India. For about 300 years, it was a famous center of Buddhist learning. Students from many regions of the subcontinent, as well as from China, Tibet, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Indonesia came here to gain religious knowledge. In the 10th century, the famous scholar Atish Dipankar Srijyan served as an acharya (teacher) at this monastery.
